Jury Duty

I had Jury Duty earlier this week.  Everyone always complains about being bored because you sit around a room all day with nothing to do.  Besides working on a larger drawing for most of the day, I found these two characters amongst the crowd.

A Little Color and Happiness

This was done for a friend of mine, Ms. Andrea Knoll. She's got a great idea for a book and this was a spec illustration I got done last night for her. A nice journey away from my more macabre sensibilities.

Caricature Night at El Coyote

Spent Cinco de Mayo with some artist buddies at el Coyote. Took up the back booth by the bathroom and made a bit of noise and then got down to some nice drawings of each other. Here's the back and forth between me and another jew, Jeremy Berstein.

Your Number Could Be Next

So the Gallery Art Show Opening at Ghettogloss a few weeks ago was a great success. I sold quite a few of my pieces and found some new fans. It was a fun and exciting night. Here's another one of the pieces I did that has found a nice new owner.

It's Good to Know the Bartender

Here is a commission I completed over the weekend for a friend of a friend. I was asked to create a duplicate in a sense to A Gentleman and His Bartender after this friend saw it at the Art Show a few weeks prior.

So like the image states... there is an art show happening in Los Angeles on April 23rd with a few friends. If you are in town, please stop by. A Day at the LA Zoo

Went to the LA Zoo for a couple hours this past weekend. As a year round member, I randomly choose to go some times just to get some outdoor sketching in. Fun day.

Went to Cole's this past weekend with my buddy Morgan Kelly (you can view his artwork here: http://morgankelly.blogspot.com/

Cole's claims to be the originator of the French Dip Sandwich and has been located downtown since 1908. If you have never been, you should check it out.

Late Night Life Drawing Sat

Went to Nucleus Gallery this past Saturday night to check out an opening. Upstairs, there was a life drawing session being put on by Dr. Sketchy's Los Angeles. The model had a great costume, excellent poses and was very easy on the eyes. I had to sit down and draw for a few minutes.
