Some Folks in Granada

The first is of a bartender whom I drew at a tapas bar. When I was packing to leave, an old women, possibly the bar's owner or the bartender's mother, started yelling at me. Luckily for me, my Spanish isn't good enough yet to care what she was saying. I left them a euro.

The second is of an old woman sitting across from me at the bus station waiting area. She had these huge, fearful eyes and looked quite unhappy.

Matthew H. Plainview - Updated

Added some smoke coming out of the pipe.

Johanus "Jackson-Bang!" Davees

Of course I am still drawing guys with top hats and moustaches. Used a good friend's name for the title.

Vlad and His Fairy

I met a French girl for drinks who inspired me with her essay on fairies (published) to try something with my character and hers.

Street Lamps

Here are some various street lamps designs inspired by the street lamps in Paris.

Small Gouache Painting Study

First attempt of painting the girl reading a book with gouache... still getting used to this type of paint... but having a lot of fun with it.

Girl Reading a Book

Digital study done to be painted later.

Places de Vosges - Digital Paint

Place de Vosges

This drawing is of a building located at the Place de Vosges... well, actually, it's just one little portion of many buildings that surround a nice park and square. Victor Hugo, the great Parisian writer (Les Misérables and the Hunchback of Notre Dame to name the notable ones) once lived here. It truly is a great place to get work done. This is the inked in sketch.

Parisian Building Study

I started this drawing the first day in Paris. I was very inspired to just try to draw one of it's buildings. I then worked on the inking over the following couple of days.

Wait! Come Back!

I have decided to return here with the drawings I have decided to do since going to Europe and going forward. I feel that they are too spread out from all the pictures and writing and I want this blog to be ongoing. So please return if you have gone away and just want to look at artwork...

In Europe

If anyone is wondering why I have not posted in awhile, it is because I am in Europe for the summer and have started a new blog to follow my travels. It will include stories, pictures, drawings and paintings that I complete during my adventure. If you'd like to check in, the url is:

Be back here after the summer.

Cheers!
